Hi, I’m Michelle Issa, a librarian and information professional turned digital strategist.
Background
I hold a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University and have spent over 10 years working as a librarian across a variety of information environments. That background shapes how I approach every website I work on: as an information system designed for accessibility and discovery. What is this site trying to communicate? Who is it for? Can the people, and the machines, trying to find it actually find it?
Since 2023, I've been building and running an SEO and AEO program for a global medical device company, from scratch. On the patient platform alone: 447% organic click growth, 1.4M+ impressions in 15 months, and ChatGPT became the 5th largest traffic source with a 92.78% engagement rate.
Why Small Business
The strategies I use at the enterprise level are exactly what small businesses need and rarely get. Most small businesses have yet to adapt to the huge shift in user search behavior. AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and voice assistants are now answering questions that used to send people to websites. A site that isn't built for this new reality is leaving visibility on the table.
My passion as a librarian is working with the community and connecting people to the tools, information, and resources they need to be successful. I explain the work, share what I find, and make sure you leave every engagement with a clearer picture of your own digital presence than when we started.
